How Control Tech got it's name!

When you're in the heating and air conditioning business for so many years; your job titles change over time. When I was in the field, we were called "Service Men", before that we were "Furnace Repair Men". Since Air Conditioning was a luxury back in the early 80's; the new name for a "Service Man" became "Service Technician". At that time I was with a large HVAC company in Central Indiana where I became a "Wiring & Control Guy". I wired Energy Management Systems for places like Burger King, Burger Chef, K-Mart, etc. Then, my title changed to "Control Technician"; hence the name "Control Tech". We actually had another name chosen, "Air Tech", but when I went to have the name registered, it was taken; so I went to plan "B" and went with
"Control Tech"!
